For days, there have been unconfirmed reports that President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s younger brother Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Gen Salim Saleh was either so sick or dead. But the family has spoken out on Salim Saleh death rumors, setting the record straight.
From claiming that Gen Salim Saleh had been flown from one town to another for specialized treatment to claims that he had not made it, those making these claims spread their information but fell short when it came to offering evidence to back it up.
Gen Salim Saleh is the coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC). He is also a powerful advisor to President Yoweri Museveni, whose bases include the northern Ugandan city of Gulu and, sometimes, Kapeeka.
Those spreading rumors of his alleged sickness and death were alleging that there were no health facilities in Gulu. And that because of this, they had to allegedly fly the 64-year-old general out of the city.
Sometimes, he meets artistes to guide them on wealth creation and streamlining the creative industry. But a handwritten note attributed to Gen Salim Saleh indicated that he was tired of musicians flocking Gulu City, saying they were disturbing his work.
Gen Salim Saleh instructed singer and presidential advisor on creatives Edrisah Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo to handle the matter.
“Presidential Advisor, creatives and president Uganda National Musicians Associations Federation. Please handle musicians who are flocking to Gulu for Xmas festivities shows. They are interfering with my work in Northern Uganda,” he wrote.
Salim Saleh wife on husband death rumors
Sheila Ebaka Akandwanaho, wife to Gen Salim Saleh, recently shared a photo of her husband. She decried the trend of some people wishing other bad things, including death.
“The dead don’t speak, neither do they smile…! Someone once said, ‘careful whom you wish death upon for your door could be opened!” Sheila Ebaka Akandwanaho wrote. “There’s a group that’s so obsessed with this life that it’s almost comical if not ridiculous.”
She further noted that some people just lack decency, but added that she was grateful for the life and good health God had given her family members.
“Misery loves company and sadly, some have dark humor even in misery while others are just plain evil and du*b too… Common decency aint for everyone and guess we make do,” Sheila Ebaka Akandwanaho further wrote.
“We shall always sing praise in the land of the living and are thankful for the gift of life and good health thus far, God is still in the business of greatness.”
Gen Salim Saleh was a fearless bush war fighter whose nephew Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba once said he told him the people he killed were waiting to welcome him in heaven. Gen Salim Saleh once praised Muhoozi for saving him when Museveni wanted to throw him in prison, as reported Here and There.
Gen Salim Saleh is one of Uganda’s fearless generals and most powerful advisors – with some pundits saying he is more influential that the vice president and ministers. It is also said that he was potential of removing Museveni if he wanted. (See Details Here and There).
