The head of legal affairs at Uganda’s main opposition political party, the National Unity Platform (NUP), has died in the US.
Anthony Wameli, the man who headed Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s NUP legal team had been admitted in the US for many months.
Bobi Wine has confirmed the death of Counsel Wameli, promising to give more details in due course.
“Very sad day! Just learnt of the untimely passing of our dear brother and Head of our Legal Team, comrade Wameli Anthony from the U.S. where he’s been admitted for treatment. Details will be provided in due course. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Bobi Wine.
