The monthly salaries of President Yoweri Museveni’s advisors, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Deputy RDCs and Assistant RDCs have been revealed.
The Ministry of Public Service categorizes presidential advisors, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Deputy RDCs and Assistant RDCs as political leaders.
Museveni’s advisors are categorized in three: senior presidential advisor, assistant senior presidential advisor, and presidential advisor.
There is another job title called senior presidential envoy, and that of special presidential assistant, then presidential assistant and deputy special presidential assistant.
For district commissioners, there are RDCs or RCCs (Resident City Commissioners), Deputy RDCs or Deputy RCCs, and Assistant RDCs or Assistant RCCs. According to the salary structure for political leaders for financial year 2024-2025, a Senior Presidential Advisor earns Shs 2,382,082 per month, translating in Shs 28,584,984 a year.
The salary of an Assistant Senior Presidential Advisor is 2,370,616, which culminates in Sh 28,447,302 annually. A Presidential Advisor earns Shs 2,370,616 a month, resulting in Shs 28,447,392 a year.
A Special Presidential Envoy earns a salary worth 2,362,012 monthly, translating in Shs 28,344,144 every year. The monthly salary of a Special Presidential Assistant is Shs 2,350,546, translating in Shs 28,206,552 every year. A Presidential Assistant earns Shs 2,350,546 or Shs 28,206,552 annually.
The monthly salary of a Deputy Special Presidential Assistant is Shs 2,321,873 or Shs 27,862,476 annually. An RDC (RCC) or Resident District (City) Commissioner’s monthly salary is Shs 2,293,200, translating in Shs 27,518,400 a year.
A Deputy Resident District Commissioner (Deputy RDC) or Deputy RCC earns Shs 1,282,369 every month or Shs 15,388,428 every year.
The monthly salary of an Assistant RDC or Assistant RCC is Shs 817,216 or Shs 9,806,592 annually. Museveni has hundreds of presidential advisors most of whom never advise him.
Instead, it is him who summons them and advises them! But these four presidential advisors are so powerful and influential, even more than the vice president, prime minister and several cabinet ministers. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
