There have been reports that popular Ugandan actor Captain Ricky, real name Bison Katantazi, had died on June 26. Reports had claimed that the Ebonies actor had been shot dead in Hoima city.
It was also alleged that Ebonies actor Bison Katantazi aka Captain Ricky had gone to Kalangala, and that he had reportedly fake his death as he hid away from debts.
But it later turned out that the reports were not true. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, was quoted as saying that no such incident involving Bison Katantazi aka Captain Ricky had been reported anywhere in Hoima.
“We want to clarify that reports circulating on social media about the shooting of Bison Katantazi, also known as Captain Ricky from the Ebonies, in Hoima are false,” said Hakiza.

In an audio attributed to him Bison Katantazi aka Captain Ricky asked Ugandans to disregard rumors of his death, insisting that he was alive, kicking, jumping and fine.
Captain Ricky also made it clear that he was at his home in Gayaza. He blamed the rumors on someone who had gained access to his mobile phone and his social media accounts such as Facebook and Whatsapp.
The said person would share media showing Bison Katantazi aka Captain Ricky which convinced people that indeed.
