Speaker Anita Annet Among and the late Jacob Oulanyah
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among reportedly spent the whole night crying after receiving news that her boss Jacob Oulanyah’s condition had deteriorated.
“Members, on Friday 11th at around 12:30pm, I got communication that the Deputy Speaker was seriously looking for myself and Hon Ojara Martin Mapenduzi,” narrated Akol.
“We then navigated ourselves through the [jam] of Kampala and by the time we reached her home, it was about 3pm.”
Akol says Among was crying the whole night as she asked God to heal Oulanyah.
“We found the Deputy Speaker in bad shape because there was information that the health of the Rt Hon Speaker deteriorated that night and the condition was bad so the Deputy Speaker cried the whole night while praying to the Almighty God,” noted the MP.
He added that he, Mapenduzi and Among agreed to seek the opinion of other leaders such as the chief justice.
“We then consulted many people including His Lordship CJ Owiny Dollo and Minister of Health and a decision was made that the brother of Rt Hon Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, His Lordship CJ Owiny Dollo, the minister of Health and Hon. Mao should travel to US to physically visit him and report back,” he further revealed.
