An assistant lecturer at Kabale University, based in southwestern Uganda, has lost his life in a road accident.
Innocent Agaba was an assistant lecturer of Kiswahili at the Institute of Languages at Kabale University, one of the public universities in the country.
Aged 40, Agaba also taught at Kyogo Secondary School. Hailing from Kakuga Village, Rutare 1, Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District, the assistant lecturer lost his life on April 17.
The accident happened along Kabale-Highway at about 2pm at Kabaraga village.
The driver of a white Toyota Hiace van registration number UBL 327M lost control, leading the vehicle to overturn a number of times.
The driver of the vehicle, which was leaving Kabale and heading to Mbarara, escaped.
Up to 13 other people sustained serious injuries from the accident. They included seven men and six women.
They were rushed to Kabale Hospital.
