Grammy Award nominee Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo and fellow singer Rema Namakula are no longer husband and wife, but the ‘Sili Muyembe’ singer once believed in the ‘Sitya Loss’ hit maker and his potential to shine at the international stage.
About seven years ago, when not many people believed Eddy Kenzo would one day scoop a Grammy Award nomination, Rema Namakula sounded sure that the ‘kaana ka mbaata ssemyekozo‘ had so much potential and would one day win a Grammy nomination and award.
According to a video recorded years ago, Rema Namakula is heard showering Eddy Kenzo with praises for being a hard working singer for whom nothing was the limit and one who would bag a Grammy Award in about five years.
“In five years, the Grammy will be in my house because Kenzo is a very hardworking man. He has to achieve whatever he wants because he is very hardworking,” Rema Namakula was heard saying in the video.
To many people who have watched the video clip from the past, Rema Namakula sounded like a prophet-ess. Last week, Eddy Kenzo scooped a Grammy Award nomination. However, years after this Rema Namakula ‘prophecy,’ Rema Namakula dumped Eddy Kenzo for Dr Hamza Ssebunya. Recently, there were reports that the marriage between Rema and Dr Hamza was ending in tears after the ‘doctor’ was seen with another woman. But Rema gave an interesting response, and later wrote a sweet message for Dr Hamza on four years of spoiling each other. (See Details Here and There).
EDDY KENZO TROUBLES
Meanwhile, in recent days, Eddy Kenzo has been in trouble. After his massive Kololo Festival, Eddy Kenzo appeared in public and shed tears, saying some people wanted to kill him. (See Details Here).
It later emerged that Eddy Kenzo had got into trouble with Luba Events over the Kololo Festival. Luba Events even went to court where they secured an order banning Eddy Kenzo from performing anywhere in Uganda. But the Sitya Loss singer defied the High Court order and performed at Bukedde’s Embuutu y’embuutikizi, risking arrest and being thrown in prison. ((Read Stories Here and There).
