Junior minister in charge of mineral development Phiona Nyamutoro, lover to singer Edrisah Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo, is winning praise for her relationship with her step-daughter Maya Musuuza Mirembe and for uniting the Kenzo family. One political activist says step mothers and fathers should borrow a leaf from her.
First, some did not approve of the love relationship between Eddy Kenzo and Phiona Nyamutoro.
Then, enthusiasts of Ugandan celebrities would debate the relationship after Phiona Nyamutoro – who has university education – pictured serving Eddy Kenzo, who did not go far in education, and his friends.
Then there came a heartfelt message Minister Phiona Nyamutoro sent out celebrating Maya Musuuza’s birthday. Daughter to Eddy Kenzo, Maya Musuuza turned 13 at the end of September 2024.
Phiona Nyamutoro revealed how she had met Maya Musuuza at the age of nine, with the daughter of Eddy Kenzo saying she admired her hairstyle.
Phiona Nyamutoro also referred to Maya Musuuza as a “sister,” and praised Eddy Kenzo’s daughter for being graceful, fondly referring to her as “my little Mirembe.”
“It feels like just yesterday when you were a nine-year old here insisting that we rock the same hairstyle during holidays to a whole teenager today with her own fad,” wrote Phiona Nyamutoro.
“I never imagined I would find a kindred spirit in a child! Forever blessed and grateful to have you as an amazing big sister and my first firefighter. May life to you be as graceful as you are. Happy birthday Ka Mirembe kange.”
Days later, Phiona Nyamutoro excited her followers and shocked others when she appeared in a photo with Rema Namakula, ex-lover to Eddy Kenzo, and her new husband Hamza Ssebunya.
She is being praised for uniting the family, with some people saying step fathers and step mothers should learn a thing or two from her grace and understanding spirit.
“You are a woman and a half. This is a big lesson to all the step mothers and step fathers. May the good Lord continue to bless you and your family,” political activist Ingrid Turinawe said of Phiona Nyamutoro on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter.
A one Aiden Kakuru @AidenKakuru wrote, “This goes to Eddy, never you ever think of divorcing Nyamutooro; what she has done, very few can do it.”
“That woman came with blessings. She has filled that home with joy,” opined Hadijah Nakaweesi (@HadijahNakawee2).
