LIST: Best, Worst Performing Schools in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality in PLE 2025 Pearl Junior School Bushenyi Shines in PLE 2024 FULL LIST: Best, Worst Bushenyi Municipality Schools in PLE 2023 PLE 2022: Uganda's Best Performing Primary Schools Named

Pearl Junior School, Bushenyi is one of the best primary schools in PLE 2024

Pearl Junior School Bushenyi, one of the best schools in Uganda, has posted good performance in the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results released on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Education and Sports Minister Janet Museveni released PLE 2024 results, with assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) indicating improvement in performance compared to the previous sitting for the year 2023.

At Pearl Junior School Bushenyi, Head Teacher Jaspher Leny has announced that the results for the school as received from Uneb’s portal indicated good performance.

Candidates at the school, based in the heart of Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, passed in only first and second grades (divisions). This means that no candidate went beyond aggregate 12.

Division One or first grade begins at aggregate four, the best score in primary leaving examinations, and ends at aggregate 12 (meaning an average of Credit Three (C3) in each of the four subjects.

According to Head Teacher Leny, a total of 90 candidates sat for the 2024 PLE examinations. Of these 74 candidates passed in Division One (First Grade).

The rest of the candidates — 16 in number — passed in Division Two (Second Grade).

The school had one candidate scoring aggregate four — meaning distinction one (D1) in each of the four subjects (English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies) while four candidates scored aggregate five (meaning D2 in one subject and D1 in each of the other three subjects).

“I passed due to the support of my teachers, my parents and especially God. During the previous year, obviously I had to go through some challenges [like sickness] but God was there for me,” said Isabela Atamba, the best candidate at Pearl Junior School Bushenyi.

“I thank Him [God] so much for I have reached up to this moment and I have scored aggregate four.”

On his part, as he announced the results for Pearl Junior School Bushenyi, Head Teacher Leny said: “Thanks to the parents, staff and administration for this spirited performance. God bless your efforts.”
