The Orthodox Archbishop of Uganda Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga has passed on.
Metropolitan Lwanga is said to have died in Athens, Greece.
He had been receiving treatment in Greece for weeks.
Uganda’s Orthodox Church confirmed Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga’s death September 05 evening.
“Our spiritual father has gone to meet the Lord,” it said in a statement issued Sunday evening.
But no details were given on the cause of the death of the cleric.
Metropolitan Lwanga’s demise comes months following the sudden death of Kampala Archdiocese Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga that happened months ago.
