Ntungamo man strangled, body dumped in swamp

Police in Ntungamo have confirmed the murder of SSezi Akansinguza aka Musheija, a bodaboda rider, after his body was found lying near a swamp, about 100 metres from the bridge on the road that leads to Nyaburiza Parish in Nyarutuntu Sub County.

A case of murder and aggravated robbery has been registered under NTUNGAMO CRB 160/2021.

Akansinguza’s body was discovered February 13 morning after the Ntungamo Municipality Central Division GISO received a report that there was a dead body at Rukindo cell , Kyamate ward, Eastern division Ntungamo Municipality.

The deceased, 25, was a resident of Enkondo cell Nyaburiza parish Nyarutuntu sub county Ruhama county.

A rope was found tied around the neck, and blood oozed out of the nose and mouth, Rwizi Region police spokesperson Samson Kasasira said.

Police would later hand over the Akansinguza’s body to his relatives for burial after a postmortem examination was conducted at the scene of crime.

The robbers and murderers took the deceased’s motorcycle: Bajaj boxer registration number UAZ 307Q, red in colour.
