Buganda Kingdom prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has refused to honour attacks by and reports on the arrest on controversial blogger Fred Kajubi Lumbuye.
Lumbuye, a blogger aligned to Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) party, is believed to be under arrest in Turkey.
Authorities in Uganda hoped to have Lumbuye deported back home last Saturday.
But Police say they are yet to receive the toxic blogger. (See: FINALLY: Police Speaks on Lumbuye’s Whereabouts).
Katikkiro Mayiga, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and other officials at Mengo were victims to Lumbuye’s false and baseless fabrications.
For example, Lumbuye claimed Kabaka Mutebi had died, and that Katikkiro Mayiga reportedly worked with the central government to betray the king, among other claims.
When he addresses reporters in Kampala on the Kabaka’s travel to Germany for specialized treatment, Mayiga downplayed Lumbuye.
He tactfully refused to honour the blogger’s attacks against Mengo with a response.
“I have nothing to say about Lumbuye. I don’t follow him,” said Mayiga.
“I hear about him from the media reports.”
The Katikkiro seemed to suggest he had no time for Lumbuye, and that the blogger’s issue was not that significant.
