Nation Media Group Uganda Outlets Resume Operations After Shutdown

KAMPALA, UgandaNation Media Group Uganda has announced that it is resuming operations after a shutdown that temporarily halted its television, print, radio and digital services.

In a statement dated July 28, 2026, the media company said its platforms would return progressively as it completes the necessary operational arrangements.

“Nation Media Group Uganda is pleased to announce the resumption of its operations. Our services across television, print, radio and digital will be restored progressively as we complete the necessary operational arrangements,” the statement reads.

The company thanked its audiences, clients and business partners for their patience and support during the disruption.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding shown by our audiences, clients and partners during this period and appreciate your continued trust and confidence in our brands,” the statement adds.

Nation Media Group also reaffirmed its commitment to professional journalism as it resumes normal operations.

“As we return to serving you, our focus remains the delivery of trusted and balanced journalism across all our platforms,” the statement says.

The statement was signed by Joe Muganda, Chairman of Nation Media Group PLC.

The announcement marks the end of an unprecedented interruption in the operations of one of Uganda’s largest media houses. The phased restoration means television, radio, newspaper and digital services are expected to return in stages until full operations are achieved.
