Museveni’s Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba Showers Besigye ‘Comrade’ Amanya Mushega with Praises

First son and Commander of Land Forces (CLF) Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has saluted opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye comrade in the struggle and former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) top leader Nuwe Amanya Mushega.

Mushega previously served as FDC Deputy President.

Before crossing over to the opposition, Mushega was an ally of President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and his National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Before falling out with Museveni in 2005, Mushega had served in the NRM Government as a minister.

He was also the East African Community (EAC) secretary general.

Even in the opposition, Mushega was disappointed by the actions of some of FDC leaders.

In 2015, he openly castigated Dr Besigye for for seeking reelection as FDC president despite saying he wouldn’t be on the ballot months earlier.

Currently not very active on the political space after disappointment in both government and opposition, Mushega is being praised by Museveni’s son.

According to Lt Gen Kainerugaba, Mushega is not only a great friend but is frank in his quest to speak the truth.

“Amongst my elders, Amanya Mushega, has been one of my best friends. He is a no nonsense man. He always tells you the truth without fear. A great man indeed!” said the first son.
