President Yoweri Museveni is expected to meet his brother Godfrey Aine Kaguta Sodo, foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa’s daughter Shartis Musherure and other aspirants in Sembabale NRM primaries for a meeting at State House Entebbe.
Ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi postponed primaries in Mawogola North and Mawogola West over violence.
In Mawogola North, there were clashes between supporters, aides and guards of Sodo and Musherure.
For Mawogola West, the election was suspended after one of the contenders, Anifa Bangirana Kawooya, sustained injuries in clashes.
Museveni has now invited the Sembabule District Chairperson Dr Elly Muhumuza, Sembabule District NRM Chairperson, all incumbent MPs, parliamentary aspirants, all LC III chairpersons and NRM sub county chairpersons for a meeting to resolve the standoff between different camps.
On September 07, Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Nickson Kabuye wrote to district leaders and aspirants informing them of the meeting with Museveni on September 10 at State House Entebbe.
“You are also informed to report to Mulago National Specialized Hospital on September 8, 2020 for Covid19 tests as a must,” wrote Kabuye.
“Transport refund, and accomodation arrangements shall be handled by State House.”
