Museveni reportedly agrees to meet Makerere Fresh Graduate who wants to be His Side Chic

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni is said to have agreed to meet fresh Makerere University graduate Annah Ashaba whose ‘I Want to Be Museveni’s Side Chic’ poem went viral on social media.

A fresh graduate of English Language Studies and Literature in English, Ashaba wrote that she would use her power as the president’s side chic to push through the reopening of schools, the release of political prisoners, and a peaceful transition.

Days after the poem went viral, Internal Security Organization (ISO) deputy director general Lt Col Emmy Katabazi summoned Ashaba.

The graduate teacher met ISO officials at the weekend.

Now, online reports have been quoting State House sources as saying that Museveni had agreed to meet Ashaba so that he could work on the issues she raised in her poem.

The reports remain unconfirmed and so is the date of the rumored meeting.
