Museveni: I’m Still Strong Even at 77 Years because of Herbs

Uganda’s president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has said he is still strong even when he is aged 77 because he used herbs when he was a child.

While meeting herbalists and scientists from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Museveni praised some herbs as ‘incomparable.’

He also revealed that in the first eight years of his life on earth, he had used herbs.

The president suggest that such herbs are part of the reason he is strong even at the age of 77.

“Herbal medicine is significant and some herbs are incomparable. For instance I was treated with herbal medicine up to the age of eight, now I am 77 years old and still strong,” said Museveni.

He also called on scientists and doctors to work with herbalists, conduct clinical trials and formalize herbal medicine.

“I call upon doctors/scientists to work closely with innovators of herbal medicine especially by carrying out clinical trials in the presence of formulae founders/ herbalists, in order to rule out mistrust and thereafter identify the important elements which cure a given illness,” he advised.
