Muhoozi Kainerugaba: I Was Never Interested in Power But Gen Sejusa & Other Haters Made Ugandans Love Me, Thanks to ‘Muhoozi Project’ Claims

First son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says he was comfortable with only serving in the UPDF, Uganda’s national army, until former spy chief Gen David Tinyefuza (Sejusa) began the ‘Muhoozi Project’ talk.

Serving as his father President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s senior advisor on special operations and commander of the UPDF land forces, Lt Gen Kainerugaba has been making political statements in recent years.

He previously said his haters coined the ‘Muhoozi Project’ concept to destroy him but his generation turned what was planned to be a curse into a blessing.

In 2013, Gen Tinyefuza (Sejusa) claimed there was a plot to eliminate military officers and political leaders opposed to an alleged plan where Museveni would ensure that his son Lt Gen Kainerugaba succeeds him.

Both Museveni and his son have severally denied hatching the Muhoozi Project. (Read Story Here).

But NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has vowed to ensure that the so-called ‘Muhoozi Project’ ends in tears, adding that he plans to remove Museveni from power before 2026. (Read Story Here).

Now, Lt Gen Kainerugaba seems to be confirming he has developed interest power.

“I never, ever looked for popularity or power. I was content to be a quiet professional officer in PGB/SFC. It was Tinyefuza who attacked me in May of 2013. He was the first person to talk of a ‘Muhoozi Project’. I had never heard of such a thing,” said the first son.

“The haters helped me get loved!”

Meanwhile, Kainerugaba is expected to make more political statements at his mega birthday party scheduled for this month.

The first son has already appointed a committee to organize his 48th birthday celebrations.

The Muhoozi birthday party organizing committee will be headed by Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Bobi Wine ‘man’ Prince Kassim Nakibinge. (Read Story Here).
