Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has accuesed President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, his son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Rwanda’s Paul Kagame of vulgarizing the relations between Kampala and Kigali.
Ever since he met Kagame in Kigali, Lt Gen Kainerugaba had been waxing lyrical about the relationship with ‘Uncle Kagame’ and Rwanda.
The meeting which happened last month saw the reopening of the Katuna (Gatuna) border point after almost three years of closure. (Read Story Here).
But Dr Besigye is concerned that Kainerugaba has continued to use tweets to make it seem like the relationship between Rwanda and Uganda is dependent on the relationship between Kagame on one hand and Museveni and his son on the other.
“Seems the relationship between people of Uganda and Rwanda is premised on how Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba (and, may be, his father, Gen Museveni) relates with his ‘uncle’ President Paul Kagame!” wrote Besigye.
“This is wrong and unacceptable. This vulgarisation and debasement of interstate relations is problematic.”
