First son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has asked main opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine if there is anything he can do anything after learning that his bodyguard Edward Ssebuufu aka Eddie Mutwe is in his custody.
For days since he was abducted this week, Eddie Mutwe’s whereabouts remained unknown. Following his abduction, it was not clear which security agency was holding Eddie Mutwe or where he was being held.
NUP’s lawyers had even moved to file a habeas corpus application, demanding that the state produces the principal’s bodyguard dead or alive.
But on Thursday, 01 May 2025, Gen Muhoozi came out to reveal that his “boys” arrested Eddie Mutwe.
Muhoozi also said that Eddie Mutwe was being taught Runyankore and that he has been compelled to salute the picture of President Yoweri Museveni everyday before he eats his breakfast.
“He [Eddie Mutwe] is in my basement. Learning Runyankore. You [Bobi Wine] are next! I captured NUP’s military commander like a grasshopper (Nsenene). If they keep on provoking us, we shall discipline them even more,” Gen Muhoozi wrote.
“Eddie is looking very smart these days. The boys have tuned him well. He salutes Mzee’s picture every day before breakfast.”
CDF Muhoozi further claimed that Eddie Mutwe was training with him for a match with Bobi Wine and that he was also learning Runyankore.
The Chief of Defence Forces also told Bobi Wine that Eddie Mutwe’s beard was cut off.
“I can’t release Eddie now. It will be unfair to me and him. He is learning Runyankore and we are both training for Kabobi. Eddie started crying as soon as the boys grabbed him…his Runyankore is improving these days,” claimed Muhoozi.
“If you see Eddie’s head now he looks like an egg. Totally clean. The beards were the first thing the boys removed.”
On learning all these, Bobi Wine wrote: “Museveni’s son confirms that our brother Eddie Mutwe is being detained in his basement, ‘Learning Runyakore.’ Time will tell.”
To which Muhoozi replied: “Correct Kabobi! What will you do about it? Coward.”
Muhoozi further threatened to arrest Bobi Wine next. He also warned that if Bobi Wine – whom he chooses to call Kabobi – does not cease his verbal fire, he will be putting Eddie Mutwe in more trouble.
“If Kabobi abus*s anybody in my family again, he will imperil Eddie even more than he already has,” wrote Muhoozi.
“Next is Kabobi! I have never joked in my life. I don’t know why people think my tweets are jokes.
