Kenneth Nsibambi of Kenbake Events is on the spot over the Kabaka’s 66th birthday cake that some of the king’s subjects say looks like a coffin.
Earlier on April 13 (the king’s birth date), Nsibambi had praised God for helping him win the contract to bake the Kabaka’s birthday cake “once again.”
“When our God Almighty opens up the door, no man can shut it! Given the opportunity once again to make the Kabaka of Buganda Birthday Cake!” said Nsibambi.
But with the kabaka looking sick and frail, his subjects wondered why the baker had chosen the shape of what they say looked like a coffin for a cake.
This prompted Nsibambi to offer an explanation.
“Hello! Friends. Would like to make some point clear here about the kabaka’s birthday cake,” clarified Nsibambi.
“It’s not the baker that decides on the color and shape of the Kabaka’s birthday but the royal family does and this time round, that was the shape and color that [were] preferred.”
He also had an apology to make.
“Sorry for all those that have been negatively affected. Long live the king of Buganda.”
