Man of God vs Barber: Shocking Case of Balokole ‘Bishop’ Accused of ‘Forcing Himself on’ Barber

The shocking case of Balokole ‘bishop’ accused of ‘forcing’ himself on barber is heading to the High Court and state prosecutors are hoping for a conviction but the ‘man of God’ denies ever forcing himself on his barber.

Aged 45, Bishop Reuben Turyasingura is accused of sod0mising a barber, aged 21. Bishop Reuben Turyasingura is the lead pastor at Serenity Foundation Ministries.

On March 10, 2026, Bishop Reuben Turyasingura appeared before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ritah Neumbe Kidasa.

Prosecution alleges that while at his residence in Kikulu Zone of Kawempe in the capital Kampala, Bishop Turyasingura forced himself on the barber.

It is further alleged that the barber had been offering the services of shaving, scrubbing, and massage to the bishop for some time.

That it even got to the point of Bishop Turyasingura asking the barber to always go to his residence to offer these services as he reportedly promised him more money if he agreed to offer him these services at home.

Prosecutors further allege that on December 28, 2026, Bishop Turyasingura asked his barber to escort him to his residence as he would in Kikulu arrive from his country home of Rukiga late in the night.

The barber agreed and reportedly met the bishop at the Kitaka stage in Kawempe at about midnight. They duo went to the bishop’s home. It is said that at home was a one Brian Mwesigwa, Turyasingura’s shamba boy.

Prosecution further alleges that Bishop Turyasingura served both Mwesigwa and the barber tea in a bedroom.

That soon, the bishop would ask the barber to become his gay partner. The barber alleges that the bishop promised him Shs20m if he agreed.

However, the barber refused to become the bishop’s partner, prompting him to grab him and force himself on the barber’s behind.

That the door had been locked from inside and that it was not until Mwesigwa came to clean the bedroom that the barber got out.

Fearing to embarrass ‘the man of God’ and due to the stigma associated with gay practices, barber reportedly was reluctant to report the case.

However, because he was unable to go to his workplace, the barber salon, his friend went to look for him and encouraged him to report at Kikaya Police Station.

The case would later be transferred to Kira Road Police Station. A medical examination for Police Form 3 is said to have indicated that the victim had  bruises and a laceration in his a*us. Prosecution also alleged that he had complained of waist and back pains after the bishop allegedly forced himself on him.

Prosecutors also noted that when police visited the bishop’s residence, the scene of the crime, the found  a 200ml bottle of olive oil with yellow liquid, a blue towel and mobile phones, among other items.

Bishop Turyasingura denies the charges of homose*uality against him. The bishop remains innocent until proven guilty, according to law.

Balokole movements have previously acknowledged that there may be some bad apples amongst them but that such acts, if proven to be true, do not represent the Balokole (Pentecostals, bornagains or evangelicals).

Balokole religion has been gaining followers, with the census figures suggesting that traditional Catholic and Protestant churches could have lost followers to them in the past 10 years, as reported Here and There.
