Classes for non-finalists and freshers will be conducted online, Makerere University vice chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe has announced.
In a notice to students, Prof Nawangwe talked of virtual orientation for new students, the reopening of university gates to final year students and continuation of learning for all non-finalists.
“Following the Government directive, we are making arrangements to receive finalists as planned on 6th February 2021. The rest of the students will continue studying online,” Nawangwe said.
“Freshers will register and receive non-residential orientation beginning Monday 1st February. Please stay tuned for further instructions.”
The announcement came hours after National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) executive director Prof Mary Okwakol wrote to all vice chancellors and principals informing them of government’s decision to delay school reopening for non-finalists for three more months.
