First son, chief of defence forces (CDF) and Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) chairman Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has assigned more NRA-like numbers to allied Museveni ministers and MPs.
Gen Muhoozi, also senior presidential advisor on special operations, started giving out patriotic officer numbers, beginning with central committee members days ago.
The CDF and PLU chairman’s patriotic officer numbers resemble those of his father Museveni’s National Resistance Army (NRA) numbers — or resistance officers — which were given to combatants of the war that brought the incumbent and country’s longest serving ruler to power.
The first batch of 12 patriotic officers included central committee members and founders of the Patriotic League of Uganda.
Now, Muhoozi has released another list of eight more officers that include three ministers in President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s government.
“In addition to the 12 Patriotic Officers announced by comrade Andrew Mwenda the day before yesterday (20/03/26). I award the following numbers to the following comrades,” wrote Muhoozi before he released the list.
- PO 0I3 – Hon. Frank Tumwebaze
- PO 014 – Hon. Kyeyune Kasolo
- PO 015 – Hon. Ruth Acheng
- PO 016 – Hon. Joanne Okia
- PO 017 –Hon. Atima Jackson
- PO 018 – Hon. Ojara Mapinduzi
- PO 019 – Hon. Nelson Nshangabasheija
- PO 020 – Mr. Frank Mwesigye
Frank Tumwebaze is minister of agriculture, animal industry and fisheries; Kyeyune Kasolo is junior minister for microfinance, and Ruth Aceng is minister of health.

Gen Muhoozi is expected to use PLU for his presidential ambitions but he recently hinted on his uncle Gen Salim Saleh succeeding Museveni, as reported Here.
