Outgoing Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama says he rejected National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine because he had intentions of undermining Buganda King Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, and removing opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye.
Lubwama lost his parliamentary seat to NU’s Aloysius Mukasa in the January 14 election.
But he says NUP supporters will regret why they voted people like Muhammad Ssegirinya (Kawempe North) to Parliament.
According to the singer and comedian-turned-MP, NUP supporters forgot they were supposed to remove incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni and his ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) MPs, and instead pushed out ‘hardworking’ MPs like him.
He claimed Bobi Wine has bad intentions against the Kabaka and Besigye.
“Bobi Wine is in his deal, we know that. He came to remove Besigye, the Bakiga, Baganda loyal to Kabaka, so he could emerge as king of opposition politics,” Lubwama told Spark TV.
“I rejected Bobi Wine because he had bad intentions to undermine my boss Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi.”
Lubwama further described some of NUP MPs such as Kawempe North’s Muhammad Ssegirinya as ‘lunatics.”
