Jesca Eriyo
A former Minister in President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government has passed on, a senior cabinet minister has announced.
On August 12 evening, Presidency Minister Milly Babirye Babalanda announced the passing of Jesca Eriyo, the former minister of state for environment.
Eriyo also served as the deputy secretary general of the East African Community (EAC).
The late former minister was also a member of the board of Uganda Security Printing Company Limited (USPC).
According to Minister Babalanda, Eriyo died in Texas.
She is said to have succumbed to cancer.
“I regret to announce the death of a member of the Board of USPC, former Minister of State for Environment, and Dep. Sec. Gen. EAC, Hon. Jesca Eriyo, who has died in Texas, USA. Our prayers are with family and friends. MHSRIEP!” announced Babalanda.
Born in Adjumani District in August 1969, Eriyo was aged 53.
