JUDGEMENT DAY: Former Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament Rebecca Kadaga is expected to attend a ruling NRM CEC meeting that will decide her fate followibg her defiance on May 24.
On May 23, Kadaga defied the Central Executive Committee (CEC) which had endorsed her hitherto deputy Jacob Oulanyah as the NRM candidate for the speaker race.
Kadaga lost the election to Oulanyah.

On May 28, NRM CEC will convene at State House Entebbe to discuss on whether Kadaga should be cautioned, suspended or expelled from the NRM.
She is the third highest ranking official in the ruling party, and any punitive decision will send a clear message to NRM leaders.
NRM secretary general Kasule Lumumba confirmed Thursday the meeting will happen on May 28.
Kadaga, the second national vice chairperson of the NRM, and Oulanyah, the vice chairman for northern Uganda, are both CEC members and are expected to attend the meeting.
National chairman President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni is expected to chair the meeting.
