Ugandan singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone has returned to Uganda after spending months in the United States of America.
Jose Chameleone had flown to the US to receive specialized treatment after spending days at a top private hospital in the capital Kampala.
Socialite Juliet Zawedde and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni were instrumental in helping fly Jose Chameleone to the US and in paying his medical bills.

While he was still admitted in a Ugandan hospital, Jose Chameleone revealed the disease the singer was suffering from, and also spilled some secrets on why Jose Chameleone separate with Daniella, as reported Here and There.
Leaving the US on April 11, Jose Chameleone arrived in Uganda on the morning of Saturday, April 12, 2025.
At the Entebbe International Airport, some of his family members, friends and fans had been waiting for him.
These had gone to the airport to show support and love to one of Uganda’s finest musicians.
Jose Chameleone’s fans stood on the roadside to cheer as his motorcade headed to Kampala.
Like the group that was at the airport, the crowds lining the streets were visibly happy that the ‘Basiima ogenze’ singer.
Once he got in Kampala, Jose Chameleone spoke to a crowd of his fans. He thanked them for their prayers, good wishes, love and support.
He said he was “truly humbled” by the heroic welcome he got.
Ahead of Jose Chameleone’s return, fellow singer Ray G called on Ugandans to contribute Shs1bn to appreciate the singing legend. But some Ugandans told off Ray G, making it clear to him that they owe Jose Chameleone nothing and that he should give him his money if he loves him so much, as reported Here and There.
