The family of the late Mzee Nathan Okori Adiyo, the deceased father of former speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah, has agreed on the burial date for the family’s patriarch. Parliament has confirmed Nathan Okori burial date following consultations with the family.
Mzee Nathan Okori Adiyo breathed his last on Friday, March 20, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Lacor.
He passed on exactly four years since the death of his son Jacob Oulanyah, who was speaker of parliament for about a year.
According to speaker of parliament Anita Among, who succeeded Jacob Oulanyah in 2022, Mzee Nathan Okori Adiyo will be laid to rest in Omoro District next week.
“Honorable Members, following consultations with the family of my late brother, Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah, the family has fixed the burial of his late father, Mzee Nathan Okori Adiyo, who passed away yesterday at St. Mary’s Hospital, Lacor, to take place on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, at his ancestral home in Omoro District,” wrote Anita Among.
“All Members of Parliament, staff, and fellow countrymen and women are accordingly informed.”
