Outgoing works and transport minister Gen Edward Katumba Wamala has issued a statement, praising Bodaboda riders who rushed him to hospital for first aid.
In the statement, Gen Katumba Wamala said “some terrorists tried to assassinate me.”
He saluted his bodyguard for fighting off “the terrorists,” and the bodabodas for rushing him to a clinic.
“I would like in a special way to thank the boda boda man who forced me on his boda so that I can go and get first aid. In the same spirit, I would thank Malcolm Healthcare Kisasi for everything they did to stop the bleeding. That first aid helped so much,” said the general.

“Allow me to thank my escort, Sgt. Khalid Koboyoit for evacuating me from the crime scene as fast as he did and for shooting back at the terrorists. Things could have been worse.”
The general further expressed his gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni for encouraging him to fight on.
“I want to thank my Commander in Chief, Kaguta Museveni, for the care he has shown me,” said Wamala, former police and army chief.
“His phone calls are some of the reasons I am still fighting on.”
