Furious Minister Baryomunsi Tells Off Those Criticizing Uganda's Embarrassing 'Milk Boxes Stall' at Dubai Expo
ICT and national guidance minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi has blasted Ugandans criticizing government over its dull exhibition at the Dubai Expo 2020.
Ugandans on social media have been expressing their disappointment with the items displayed in their country’s pavilion whose setup cost Shs3bn.
The dissatisfaction came after President Museveni was seen touring a stall with tea and milk boxes paraded on a Masaai leesu.
Now, a furious Minister Baryomunsi has made it clear to Ugandans that government officials flew to Dubai Expo 2020 not to impress them online but to lure investors to come and inject money in the economy.
“We did not come here to impress Ugandans. We came here to attract significant investors and we’re doing well,” Baryomunsi told NBS, adding that the country was doing well in as far signing trade and investment deals was concerned.
Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) Board Chairman Morrison Rwakakamba has also dismissed reports that Uganda has put up a lackluster exhibition at Dubai Expo 2020.
“I don’t know the motive of such people. I don’t know what they want or what their intentions are. Our aim is to attract investments and that is what we are doing and that is what Ugandans want,” said Rwakakamba.
