The lists of students admitted on government sponsorship at Makerere University and MUBS (Makerere University Business School) under the national merit scheme have been released.
The lists, showing the names of students whose tuition and other related expenses will be footed by the Ugandan tax payers, were released by the Office of the Academic Registrar, Makerere University.
The students whose names appear on the lists will have full sponsorship for the duration of the academic programs (courses) they have been admitted to pursue starting with the 2025-2026 academic year .
Thousands of students were admitted to Makerere University, Uganda’s oldest and largest higher learning institution, and its affiliate MUBS, based at Nakawa.
The students whose names appear on the lists are the best performers in their A-levels and preceding national examinations.
Their results are assigned numerical value to see if they qualify for their preferred academic programs based on the set cutoff points.
