Uganda Police Force (UPF) has released the names of Ugandans shortlisted for police jobs as Probationer Police Constable (PPC).

A little over 5,000 Ugandans have been shortlisted for police jobs. The shortlisted candidates have now been invited for interviews scheduled for April 2024 at various locations across the country.

The interviews will include a fitness test, an aptitude test, an oral test, and medical examination.

In February 2024, under reference number REF: HRM/138/160/01/VOL. 3/17, police advertised at least 2,500 PPC jobs, inviting applications from suitably qualified Ugandan citizens  willing to join the Uganda Police Force.

Now, a little over 5,000 have been shortlisted to complete for the jobs whose remuneration will be under the UG SCALE- U7 (the salary scale). The shortlisted candidates, who are between ages 18-23, are expected to undertake assignments in UPF.

They are expected to enforce law and order, protect life and property, preserve law and order,  prevent and detect crime, and execute any other duties as assigned by the Inspector General of Police.

Successful candidates are expected to have no criminal record, be physically and medically fit, be ready to work for long hours and at times under difficult conditions. They should also be ready to work in any part of the country.

After the interviews, successful applicants are also expected to be ready to undertake the requisite twelve (12) months Police Basic Training.

Police has directed all shortlisted candidates to go to designated recruitment centers on the dates indicated, with their original national identity cards, and original academic documents. Candidates have also been advised to keep time – to report at the respective recruitment centers by 8am.
