The final graduation list for students graduating from Makerere University and Makerere University Business School (Mubs) is out just a few days to next week’s 72nd graduation ceremony at the country’s premier institution of higher learning.
Thousands of students will next week be awarded bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate (PhDs) degrees in a graduation ceremony that will be the 72nd since the university’s inception.
The ceremony will happen at the Makerere University Freedom Square from Monday, May 23, 2022 to Friday, May 27, 2022.
Uganda’s President Gen Dr Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, who is a visitor to the university, will preside over the open ceremony on May 23.
Museveni will be in company of his wife Janet Kataaha Museveni, who is also the Minister of Education and Sports, as well as State Minister for Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo.
Chancellor Prof Ezra Suruma will preside over the ceremonies to confer degrees on thousands of students who have successfully completed their courses (academic programs) and had their names printed in the final graduation book.
It should be remembered that the graduating lot has had to adopt new methods of learning as the world battled the deadly Covid19 pandemic. They embraced a hybrid system of learning that saw them adopt e-learning and some face-to-face lectures with their instructors.
