Main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) has resumed his campaigns after police pepper sprayed him on December 28, prompting his team to rush him to hospital.
Discharged from Fastline Medical Center in Bugiri District hours later, Amuriat returned to his campaign trail on December 29.
His party says that “after yesterday’s incident where he was sprayed with a poisonous chemical, the Villager [Amuriat] is still in pain but up in [good spirits] and has to deliver a message of change to his people.”
Amuriat will campaign in Teso sub-region districts of Kumi and Soroti.
As he headed to Kumi, his home town and a place he previously represented in Parliament, Amuriat made a stopover at Kachumbala in Bukedea District.
