Five Anglican Bishops from Uganda are in the United States for the Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans (G25) Mini Conference that happened in Plano, Texas.
The meeting focused on encouraging newer bishops in the movement of the religion. Over 170 leaders from 25 countries were present, including 10 primates and 83 other bishops and archbishops.
This year’s Gafcon was hosted by Christ Church Plano (CCP), a cathedral church of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), whose Rector and Dean, Bishop Paul Donison, also serves as the General Secretary of Gafcon continues its commitment to re-order the Anglican Communion in joyful submission to Holy Scripture.
It was held under the theme ‘Leading the Renewal.’
Uganda’s team to GAFCON was led by His Grace, the Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Steven Kaziimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.
Other members included Bishop Wilson Kisekka of Luwero, Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe, Bishop Enos Kitto Kagodo of Mukono, and Bishop Fredrick Jackson Baalwa, Assistant Bishop of Afterward, the Bishops and other prelates proceeded to Boston and California for additional meetings and ministry engagements with the Ministry Partners.
This was the 17th time, more than 1100 Anglicans from around the world come together since the first Assembly in Jerusalem.
Next year, G26 will be meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, and will have a special focus on the more senior leaders of our global movement
