First son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has reportedly bought Nexus Bar, based in Najjera, but the Special Forces Command (SFC) commandant has remained tightlipped on the claims swirling online.
The rumors were sparked by works being undertaken to refurbish the hangout.
The process to give the bar a facelift started weeks ago, and the first son is said to be injecting millions in the works.
Nexus Bar owner Ivan Kakooza succumbed to Covid19 in October 2020.
By then, bars had been closed for seven months to prevent the spread of Covid19.
Kakooza is said to have left behind billions of bank loans, thus necessitating the sale of Nexus Bar and other properties to recover the money.
With bar owners gearing for official reopening in the coming months, the new management that took over Nexus Bar hopes to welcome their customers to a better looking place and services.
As for Kainerugaba, his love for booze is said to be well known among his peers.
In January 2021, singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine accused the first son of tweeting while in “a drunken stupor!”
In response, Kainerugaba, also the presidential advisor on special operations, said he was a proud representative of drunkards.
“Bobi Wine, so you have a thing against the millions of Ugandans and the billions of human beings who have ever woken up from a ‘Drunken stupor’ as you call it?” asked the first son.
“Well, then I’m proud to represent those fellow human beings that you despise! May they live long and prosper!”
