First son and commander land forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has concluded his three-day visit to Rwanda where he held meetings with President Paul Kagame.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba said his visit was “fruitful.”
He further told Ugandans that Kagame had assured him he will work on challenges regarding Covid19 testing at the Katuna border.
“After a very fruitful 3 day visit to Rwanda I’d like to thank His Excellency Paul Kagame and the government and people of Rwanda for the very warm way we were received and treated,” said the first son.
“We discussed a wide range of issues. One of the issues we discussed concerned the few difficulties still connected with the border opening (the high cost of PCR tests for Covid-19 etc). President Kagame assured me all that will be sorted out.”
He praised his father, whom he advises on special operations, for a chance to contribute to restoration of relations between Kampala and Kigali.
“I thank His Excellency Yoweri Museveni for giving me the opportunity to serve my nation by helping to rebuild the very important strategic relationship between Uganda and Rwanda,” wrote Kainerugaba.
It should be remembered that the first meeting between Kainerugaba and Kagame led to the reopening of the Katuna border after almost three years. (Read Story Here).
