Fire Guts Kakira Sugar Ltd’s Stores

Stores at Kakira Sugar Ltd in Jinja have been burnt by fire that broke out on May 27 evening.

Supplies worth millions of Uganda Shillings are reported to have been burnt to ashes as the fire raged on for some time.

The fire burnt through the two-storied store house, wreaking havoc.

For many minutes, firefighters battles the fire that had threatened to catch more units of Kakira Sugar Ltd.

By publication time, the cause of the fire was not yet known and police were yet to issue a statement on the matter.
