The body of Cedric Babu Ndilima has been returned to Uganda as his final sendoff program kicks off. The body arrived at Entebbe International Airport. From Entebbe on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
It was then driven to the Uganda Funeral Services in Bukoto.
Family and friends began gathering at Cedric Babu’s home in Kololo Kampala for a vigil on Tuesday, June 3, and will do so even on Wednesday.
On Thursday, Cedric Babu’s body will be driven to the Lugogo Indoor Stadium for ‘the heart behind the racquet,’ so sports lovers can pay their last respects. Thereafter, there will be a vigil and mass at Cedric’s home.
On Friday, June 06, there will be mass at Rubaga Cathedral before departure for Kamengo and vigil at the same place.
Cedric Babu will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 07, 2025.
Born on August 31, 1974, Cedric Babu Ndilima died on May 31, 2025 at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi Kenya.
At least Shs200m had been collected in a GoFundMe fundraising to take Cedric Babu to London for a heart transplant before he died, as reported Here and There.
