Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb) says UACE 2025 results of 351 candidates have been withheld over suspected examination practices.
Education minister Janet Museveni released results from the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations in Kampala on Friday, 13 March 2026.
Ahead of the official UACE 2025 results release by Ms Museveni, Uneb executive director Dan Odongo said “cases of malpractice at this level have remained low.”
But he revealed that results of 351 candidates have been withheld and will be investigated in accordance with the law.
The 351 candidates whose results have been withheld are from at least 47 centres across the country, according to Odongo.
“In accordance with Section 5(2) (b) of the UNEB Act, Cap 259, those results will be withheld, pending completion of investigations,” he said.
“Cases were reported from 47 centres out of the 2,452 centres; involving 351 (0.2% of the total candidates).”
The uneb boss also spoke on the nature of cases of examination malpractice registered in 2025 UACE examinations.
“Cases are mostly in receiving assistance in Science Practical papers, being in possession of unauthorized materials and impersonation,” said Odongo.
No date has been set for hearing of the cases involving the 351 affected candidates from the 47 centres as “the Board is proceeding with the hearing of PLE cases, and will start on UCE cases from 16th March, 2026.”
