Donald Trump to Remove All US Sanctions Against Museveni Government — Muhoozi

First son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says he has it on good authority that incoming US President Donald Trump plans to remove all sanctions against President Yoweri Museveni’s government in Uganda. 

Donald Trump was elected 47th president in November and is expected to assume office, returning to the White House in January 2025.

Under the Joe Biden administration, the US slapped sanctions against Uganda over human rights violations and the anti-gay law.

Museveni has seen and dealt with several US presidents since 1986. Kampala has dealt with Trump before and as the new administration comes in, it is hoped that the sanctions against Uganda and government officials will be lifted.

“I hear from good sources that when the Muchwezi, Donald Trump, takes power in the United States, one of his first measures will be to remove ALL sanctions against Uganda! Ruhanga asiimwe [Praise be to God]!”

Some of the sanctions expected to be removed include those against programs and those related to funding of key security and health programs, including those working on HIV/AIDs interventions. It is hoped that sanctions against top security officials will be lifted. (See Details Here, There and Over There).
