Muslim men praying during Eid al Fitr prayers at Global High School Grounds in Mbarara City
Muslims have been urged to maintain their spiritual practices, including prayer, even after the end of Ramadan, to continue drawing closer to Allah and receiving His blessings.
The call was made by Sheikh Umar Ssebalamu, the Chairman Abubakar Mosque Mbarara, who led the Eid al Fitr prayers held at Global High School grounds.
Sheikh Ssebalamu emphasized the importance of sustaining the spiritual fervour and good habits cultivated during Ramadan, such as prayers, fasting, and charity even after the holy month.
“It’s crucial to remember that prayer is a fundamental pillar of Islam and should be a continuous practice, not just limited to Ramadan,” he preached.
“Also continue, giving Sadaqah [charity] as it shouldn’t be limited to just Ramadan.”
Abdul Fattah Ishaq, the Imam Abubakar Mosque, asked Muslims to celebrate in legal places and in ones allowed in the Islamic faith.
“Make sure that you celebrate with your people and keep peace and harmony in your communities and not forgetting to pray say the five prayers recommended in Islamic faith,” said Imam Ishaq.
At the same event, MP Ritah Bwahika, who prayed with Muslims at Global High School Grounds, donated a portable ultrasound scan worth Shs10m to the Muslims to help in scanning expectant mothers.
