Parliament of Uganda has been told that there is an alleged plan by disappointed primary school teachers and their secondary school counterparts who teach arts subjects to decline to take part in the marking of this year’s national examinations: Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).

Despite President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s insistence that only scientists would get a pay raise in the current Financial Year 2022-2023, the recently released salary structure reveals a category of non-scientists has been included on the list of those who will enjoy a salary increment starting July 2022.Â
