Basajjabalaba, a member of the Bushenyi District Covid19 Task Force, was among the 31 new cases confirmed, according to results the Ministry of Health (MoH) released on August 07.
But the district chairperson rejected the results, and asked that another test be done.
Results from the second sample are expected on August 09, Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Jolly Tibemanya told local media.
Tibemanya had called local reporters to brief them on Basajjabalaba’s Covid19 status.
She also revealed that five people that had been so close to the district chairperson had gone into self-quarantine.
MoH is also expected to test all staff at the Bushenyi District headquarters in the coming days.
