Maj Gen Abel Kandiho
President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has appointed former Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) boss Maj Gen Abel Kandiho the new chief of staff of the Uganda Police Force (UPF).
Maj Gen Kandiho will replace Maj Gen Jack Bakasumba.
Bakasumba has been appointed the Ugandan Delegate to the South Sudan Peace Monitoring Mechanism.
“H.E the President and C -in- C of the UPDF has appointed Maj Gen Abel Kandiho as Chief of Joint Staff of Uganda Police Force replacing Maj Gen Jack Bakasumba who has been appointed the Ugandan Delegate to the South Sudan Peace Monitoring Mechanism,” read a statement by UPDF spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye.
Kandiho was fired recently following a meeting between President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Museveni’s son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. (Read story here).
