Bobi Wine: Archbishop Lwanga died under ‘very unclear circumstances’

National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has alleged that Kampala Catholic Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga died under ‘very unclear circumstances.’

Archbishop Lwanga was found dead in his bedroom in Kampala on April 03.

Although a postmortem report is yet to be released, Bobi Wine says the cleric died under unclear circumstances.

He also praised the fallen religious leader for his boldness in condemning human rights violations and other injustices.

“Archbishop Lwanga joins several other eminent outspoken religious leaders who have recently died under very unclear circumstances,” claimed Bobi Wine.

“He will be remembered for always speaking out against injustice and oppression. Only yesterday as he joined the faithful to celebrate the way of the cross, he raised his voice yet again and condemned the rampant abductions of our people by the state.”

Bobi Wine also described the death of Lwanga as a ‘dark day.’

“It is a dark day for the Catholic Church. It is a dark day for Uganda,” lamented Bobi Wine.

I have learnt with great shock about the sudden death of His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese.

“It will be very hard to cope with this unimaginable loss. May the Lord receive his gentle soul in heaven.”
