Bishop Stuart University (BSU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Mauda Kamatenesi has directed lecturers to start conducting online teaching.
Prof. Kamatenesi who was addressing media on Wednesday, said the Mbarara based university will start receiving finalists’ students at the Kakoba campus on October 15th as directed by government.
Prof. Kamatenesi said due to Covid-19, the university council that sat in June advised that they should embrace e-learning programs.
The plan to have the institution majority programs conducted online has since been accredited by National council for higher education.
Prof. Kamatenesi reveals that conducting virtual classes, lecturers and students who are all vulnerable to corona virus will reduce their exposure to the pandemic.
She said the university administration through the vice chancellors’ forum will help students and even lectures procure teaching and learning tools like computers and mobile phones from different manufactures at subsidized rates so as to ensure the smooth running of the program.
