Besigye Health Condition: PFF Raises Alarm, Prisons Say Routine Check-up

Besigye Health Condition: PFF Raises Alarm, Prisons Say Routine Check-up Leaked Besigye Audios: From Negotiating Guns to Remove Museveni, to Talk on Unserious Bobi Wine POISONED? Here's the Truth About 'Strange Disease' That Forced Besigye to Seek Treatment Abroad

Besigye

Dr. Kizza Besigye, the Ugandan opposition leader, was taken to a private hospital in Bugolobi late Monday night, according to the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF). But Uganda Prisons Service (UPS) has also spoken out on Besigye health condition.

The PFF says Besigye was rushed from Luzira Prison under heavy security due to a critical deterioration in his health.

The PFF expressed alarm over Besigye’s condition, saying: “The People’s Front for Freedom wishes to inform the public and all supporters of freedom that the health of our leader, Dr. Kizza Besigye, has reached a critical and deteriorating state.”

The party is demanding access for his doctors and family, stating: “We demand that his personal doctors and family be granted unrestricted access to him. Dr. Besigye must be freed to receive the care he deserves.”

PFF holds the government accountable for Besigye’s well-being: “We hold the regime and the prison authorities fully accountable for his well-being.”

The party is calling for support: “We ask all compatriots and lovers of freedom to keep Dr. Besigye in your prayers and to remain vigilant.”

However, Uganda Prisons Service dismisses claims of a health scare. “Besigye saw his doctor at night as part of his routine monthly medical check-up. His health is stable,” Prisons Spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja told Capital Radio. Besigye has returned to Luzira Prison and is continuing with normal daily activities.

Besigye, 69, has been in detention since November 2024, facing treason charges linked to alleged plots to overthrow the government, with leaked audios attempting to pin him. (See Details Here and There).

His supporters and human rights organizations are calling for his release, citing concerns over his health and the politicization of his detention.

Besigye previously consulted doctors abroad, after which he explained the treatment he was given, as reported Here.
