Apostle Grace Lubega's Phaneroo Ministries Management Breaks Silence on Church Sensitive Records, Including Bank Loans

Apostle Grace Lubega of Phaneroo Ministries

The management of Apostle Grace Lubega’s Phaneroo Ministries International has spoken out on sensitive records shared on social media, including details bank loans.

The other records are for registration of Phaneroo Ministries International.

According to the records, Phaneroo Ministries International was first registered with Grace Lubega as to spread good news, and plant churches, among other objectives.

Apostle Grace Lubega was the sole proprietor until 2023 when his wife Nicolette Pauline Nakintu and a one Modesta Okwomi, a Kenyan, were added to Phaneroo Ministries International as shareholders, according to registration records shared by those who have declined requests to share their churches’ records as well.

The records also show an August 2024 resolution to borrow Shs10bn from Equity Bank. It is said that this resolution was only signed by Apostle Grace Lubega and his wife Nicolette Pauline Nakintu.

The records shared also indicate
an October 2024 resolution to borrow Shs8.5bn from Equity Bank, which the shared records indicate was signed by Apostle Lubega, his wife Nicolette Pauline Nakintu, and Modesta Okwomi.

Phaneroo Ministries International management has spoken out on these records.

Phaneroo Ministries International dismissed the sharing of records as a meaning to “undermine the integrity and reputation” of the church.

“It has come to our attention that certain individuals are actively engaged in a campaign to undermine the integrity and reputation of Phaneroo Ministries International,” the ministry noted in a May 14 statement.

“This coordinated effort involves the dissemination of official Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) documents through social media channels, with the apparent intention of misrepresenting our legitimate operations.”

Phaneroo Ministries International has also noted that there is a campaign to soil the church’s image with such attacks.

“We want to assure our members and the wider public that this is not an isolated incident but rather a deliberate and ongoing attack,” management further noted.

“Furthermore, we have also recently experienced attempts to compromise our email communications.”

Management also made it clear that the information shared was not in any way new to its partners and members, and that its registration was not in doubt.

“We want to clearly state that the information contained within these publicly shared documents is not new to our dedicated members and partners,” Management further clarified.

“Phaneroo Ministries International is duly registered as a company limited by guarantee (such companies have no shares or shareholders) and holds the necessary licensing as a national non-governmental organisation, in full compliance with the laws of Uganda.”

Phaneroo Ministries International also urged its members to refuse to be shaken and divided by such sustained attacks.

“The remarkable growth of Phaneroo Ministries International, both nationally and internationally, in its mission to spread the Gospel and transform lives, stands as a clear testament to the diligent and faithful stewardship of the resources entrusted to us. These tangible results speak volumes about who we are and what we stand for, all to the glory of God,” the management of the church urged members and partners.

“Therefore, we earnestly appeal to all our members to remain steadfast, united in spirit, and to allow the unwavering truth and faithfulness of God to prevail. We urge you not to be swayed or distracted by these baseless and futile attempts to sow discord. We are confident that truth and integrity will ultimately triumph.”

The recent attacks came after Apostle Grace Lubega announced that Phaneroo Ministries International will put up a $55m (about Shs200bn) building, and as the apostle said he would not borrow to finance the project.

It should be remembered that some critics have blasted Apostle Grace Lubega, with former assistant Bishop Dr Zac Niringiye saying Apostle Grace Lubega was engaged in robbery in Jesus’name. (See Details Here).

But Apostle Grace Lubega’s followers have fired back at critics of the project and man of God, telling them to leave Balokole alone and instead demand accountability in their own churches where they give money. (See Details Here and There).

Meanwhile, the number of Balokole in Uganda increases in the past 10 years while that of Catholics and Anglicans reduced, according to 2024 census figures. (See Details Here).
